Hi XXX, :)

Thank you very much :) I would like to ask as well for a contact number of a representative just in case? Also, if you have some pictures of the house, it'll be great too! :)

Best,

Still no reply

Having no contact number, I went down to the 974 St nicholas ave apartment.

27th Aug 2009 at 2pm:

No one... no bell... no one called me. I still had no contact number.

Waited... Looked around. Still no one. Went back.

27th Aug 2009 roughly about 1030pm:

Wrote an email to XXX

Dear XXX,

I was at 974 St Nicholas Ave this afternoon at 2pm. However, I did not see anyone there at the building to show me the apartment. I waited for quite some time and nobody called me even though I emailed u my contact number. I did not have your contact number so I trusted that someone would be there to show me the place. I was really disappointed to find out from someone in the building that there was no one in charge. I hope you can give me an explanation.

Thank you

Charmaine

Got a reply about 1 1/2 hours later:

Dear Chairmaine:
The Super was expecting you at 3pm(I thought 2pm???), that is what I have in my calendar, he was outside de building till 4:30 pm
it`s seems that we had a miscomunication, in any case you should off[(have)<---think this is what she meant. Any objections?] rang his bell, he lives in the basement.
Sorry about that. Do you want to re-schedule, but this time you should call us to confirm that you are on your way.
Sincerely,
XXX

1st mistake: My name is mis-spelt.

2nd mistake: This "super"-man was supposed to be there at 2pm. check the above if you have forgotten.

3rd mistake: XXX, you have my number. Why no call?

4th mistake: WHAT miscommunication? Didn't we agree on 2pm?

5th mistake: In any case, I should have rang his bell? Where/What bell?

6th mistake: I errrrrr... do not know he lives at the basement. I do not even have your cellphone number.

7th mistake: I should call to confirm? Call what number may I politely ask?

28th Aug 2009 roughly around 1250am

My Reply:

Hi XXX,

Thank you for getting back to me. I'm so thankful it was not some prank. :) Below is the email that you sent to me stating that you will schedule me to see the apartment at 2pm on the 27th Aug. I also emailed to ask for your cell phone number however i think perhaps u have not read it yet? Hence, I had no one to contact. I er... also didn't know the person-in-charge lives at the basement...

Anyway, thank you very much XXX. I'm sure you didn't mean it at all and you are a very nice lady. :) After thinking about it, I've decided to stay in Flushing because it's much cheaper.

Take care and all the best,

Charmaine :)

yeah.. I've decided to be nice in the end. Anyway, this email is just purely for entertainment. I will not disclose any names.

I saw someone carrying a Marc Jacobs bag that Gem has. Beside her, a lady was reading "The time traveller's wife". It is a book I read recommended by Yr.

Here's the story:

I made an appointment to view an apartment at Washington Heights. The landlord said there will be a person-in-charge to show me the place at 2 pm. During the email correspondence (in which she took so long to reply), I gave her my cell phone number when she asked for it. When I asked for hers, I did not receive a reply.

I decided to still go to the apartment because I trusted her and well... i was pretty desperate to find a place as well I'll admit. Well, apparently anyhow, it didn't pay. There was no one in sight when I got there. I still didn't have her number.. or any number at all. So my friends went with me for nothing. I felt so terrible. Arghh... i wrote her a pretty annoyed email after not receiving any calls from her or that "supposed" person-in-charge at all the entire day. I was so disappointed to find out from a person in the building that there was no security or anyone in charge of the place. I even called the number I saw on the wall for TRESSPASSING... yeahh.. that's how desperate i was.

Here's the second story:

Zhi Ying and I were buying bubble tea at the... well... bubble tea/food shop. Anyway. This Spanish guy asked for MochiE. Nope.. I didn't spell that. He did. He said "Do you have mochiE? M-O-C-H-I-E". Immediately I was like.. hmm.. this could get pretty interesting. and it actually did.

The Spanish guy wanted green tea flavoured mochiE. okay.. except for the spelling of the word he gave, you might think it makes perfect sense. And it did. Then he went on to say, "I don't want tapioca- [meaning (pearls/zhenzhu)]. The last time, you put tapioca in it. I don't want that." Tapioca in Mochi ice-cream? I dont think mochi ever got so... innovated. So the PRC cashier replied him saying, "there's no tapioca in the mochiE." And the guys exchanged a few more words before the cashier handed him 3 pieces of Mochi icecream. The man took a bite outta it and said, "No. I wanted the green tea mochiE smoothie!" <------ can someone explain in layman terms WHAT THAT IS?

Anyway, the PRC cashier went on to say something like, "You said you wanted Mochi so I gave you Mochi." "But I wanted mochiE green tea Smoothie!" the Spanish guy replied. And the poor cashier painstakingly explaiinnneed: "There is no such thing as mochiE green tea smoothie... If you wanted a smoothie, why did you take a bite outta the mochi when you knew that wasn't what you wanted?!" So the Spanish guy said sth not-so-smart like "It was your fault man.. you didn't give me what i want." Pretty understandably (even though I do not encourage AT ALL), a few F words were mentioned..... and the PRC even asked the Spanish guy to call the cops because he didn't wanna argue.

Well, apparently that was of no use because the Spanish guy continued to ask for his green tea mochiE smoothie and my friend and I finally left the shop with our bubble tea. Well... sorry spanish mochiE munster. STILL no such thing as green tea mochi smoothie no matter how many times you ask within that 5 -8 mins. I felt sorry I couldn't watch the end of the show. I wonder if someone pulled some punches.

Oh wells...

So here's what happened:

SG-FF: I got on the plane, slept for 10 hrs, watched "The Proposal" and had some cereal.

Kid cried for 29 mins every 30 mins. during that 1 min break, another kid cried. -.-

FF-NY: Watched "The Parent Trap" (ae classic)... :) while gorging on poached eggs, bacon and potatoes. Then I slept for another 3 1/2 hours before waking for some snapper and assorted veges... I then proceeded to watch "Duplicity".... ... hmm..

Anyways... I did not get to finish watching that show before the pilot prepared for landing. Not that I cared anyway...

After all the lugging and dragging and oofing my luggages, I got to The White House in Flushing. This is where I am staying now. It's sooo far away.... it's like 1 1/2 hrs away from Manhattan including walking and waiting. so... so... far...... im just really not used to it at all. Just now on my way back, I walked so much that i thought I had already missed the house. I then realised I wasn't even near. The landlord and family are really nice. But it's just too far... I wanna move to Manhattan asap.

Went to visit Samantha who cracked her footbone cuz of walking too much and too fast. We made our way to Chinatown slowly after she insisted it was okay for her to walk. Sam recommended some crappy MSGed food. i didn't have to taste the MSG to know that filthy thing was in there. It said MSG on the menu. yeah. great.

She brought me to some chinese supermarket where for the first time, I saw DANG DANG DANG DANG...!!!! - DURIANS. they looked pretty weird. Their thorns were ...wide and almost... flat???

Anyway.. I bought shampoo... conditioner.. soap.. toothpaste and went back after that.. took a bath... blablablablabla.. and now im writing this BORING BORING BLOG ENTRY.. AaRGHETESIS!!!!!! i dont even wanna finish reading this the 2nd time.

It is now 18.21, the 24th of Aug 2009. I have not touched this blog for quite some time now. I'm not sure whether anyone at all will be reading this but myself. It has pretty much truly become a ghost blog that just faded out of the minds of people. Perhaps, it has already become a personal journal...

Anyway... this is not the main point of today's post.

I am leaving tmr... going back to ny for 9 long months. I'm almost done packing and I have bid my farewells to most people. I have mixed feelings about going back. Really sad to leave home and all my friends and the surroundings that I got so used to during this summer break. I have to adjust once again to the life I have there. Nevertheless, learning and studying there has been pretty enjoyable. I am doing well. THANK GOD. and I want to continue doing well. duh...

Even though the weather starts to get colder and colder and much colder, the Lord has brought me through this 1st year of ny successfully. I cannot believe that time flies by so quickly. In a flash, everything is and will be over.

I remember the Japan trip, my driving lessons, and my test and passing my test, and the wedding and the performance I had, hanging out with friends and family, having healthy home cooked food after so long. Everything just flashed past my mind.

It's over.

I have to control this ball of emotions... look fine and dandy, suppress it and pray for the best.

Lord please help me.
