I searched high and low for Patelson's music shop and even passed it (cuz it's sooo tiny). When I finally found it, the score I wanted was out of stock! ARGHHH... Later, I met JJ and his friend Honey (if it's spelt correctly).. it could be Hunny or Honny, or Hahny, or Hanny.. well anyway, we went to this reaaallllyyy cool flea market. arghhh!! necklaces were going for like a dollar... i wanted to get them but I DUNNO WHY CHAR'S SO SILLY!! she thought about it for too long a time until she didn't get it in the end..... ARGH.......... so stupid. I could hardly breathe!! All the vintage stuff which are sold in Singapore for a few hundred dollars are here going for like 20 bucks??? Aw maannnn... If only I had cash... Nevermind.. I'll be back.... sooonnn.. muahahha. anyway at least I got a bracelet. hahaha. sigh.. but then again it will never substitute the one i got in Salzburg....... :( Anyway, after which we went to Soho and "Honey" left. JJ and I walked ard.. He brought me to some arty-gallery shop.. wow.. arty I say... and we went to CHINATOWN for some Malaysian, Indonesian Chinese food!! shiok.. hahaha we had the dark sauce hokkien mee, chicken rice with half a huge chicken, and bak ku teh.. yummmyyy... we were so full.. He da baoed the rest back and totally insisted on paying for the food. Nice guy. hahaha anyway, later he walked me to the train station and we parted ways. All in all, it was a pretty productive day. :D Got to see quite a few stuffs. :)

I was early, hence I went to get a sandwich. It was a cold sandwich. Great. Cold sandwich on a cold day. I sat by the window because it had started to snow heavily. Wow.. much prettier in the day than at night. Duh.. I can't even see the snow in the dark. Anyway, after which I went to practice with the accompanist (Mitchell Vines). It was pretty okay. After that I walked into shops and saw saw.. then I walked to the starbucks at Lincoln centre again to have fruit and tea and read a vocal book- "Vocal Wisdom" that i got from the Juilliard bookstore. then i came back. The wind is very very strong. almost blew me away. Nowadays I've been getting up later and later.. getting used to the time here and stuff. so I always leave the house late. I don't mind anyway. I'll be in trouble when I return to Singapore I should be going to see the statue of liberty tmr and going to the music bookstore to get some scores for my teacher and see what i can find. yupp.. that's about it.

I'm in New York City. yup.. Live auditions. I had one for the Boston Conservatory in Washington DC on the 26th of Feb and now i'm awaiting the next audition for the Mannes College. Sat at starbucks for about 3 hrs drinking hot choco and eatin' some fruit, reading a book called "vocal wisdom" I got from the juilliard bookstore. uh huh... well.. anyway that's not the point of my entry. I went to the Met Opera House today!!! I saw what Pavarotti wore in an opera he acted in. Well... as you can guess, it was PRETTY huge. ha ha. I watched Il Barbiere di Sviglia. Elina Garanca is sooo good! She sounds kinda like Nancy. Anyway, their voices are sooo... free... like, they sing as if it's sooo easy! I was blown away by some of 'em. They could control the dynamics and articulate so well. They could act really well too! It was so "spontaneous".
When I got outta the Opera house, it was dark outside and when I looked carefully under the lamp post's light, I saw something was falling... SNOW. wow... first time I experience so much snow falling like rain. It was pretty cool.
The lamp post's light
catches the snow
O how very bright!
But alas! No matter how pretty the snowflakes,
it slips away too quickly
and disappears from sight
into the night
