Tonight, I was a page turner for an accompanist for a violinist at a performance. This event was organized by a very wealthy woman. It was held in her apt looking over the whole central park and all the buildings on the east side. What a magnificent and breath taking view! There were butlers carrying hors d'oeuvres and serving water with a small wedge of lemon. The water tasted weird. Anyhoo, after the performance some people came up to me and said I turned the pages well and mentioned that if it were them, they'd probably be too nervous to know when to turn the page. I replied that I was getting more credit than I had expected!

Ms Lavanne, who intro-ed me to the "job" intro-ed me to the lady of the house. I guess that would be a good connection to have in future. Whatever it is.

Just made a new friend today! God has answered my prayers! THANK GOD! :D

7th Oct 2010.

Stanley Babin: Composer and Pianist. Died at the age of 77.

Went to Stanley Babin's Memorial with Ms Antonia Lavanne and Mark. Ms Lavanne hired a mini bus to get to the location. It was huge for the 3 of us. She did not tell the driver that Mark was coming along because she thought it didn't matter. The driver got a little annoyed and told her she had to pay for Mark. Later the driver asked where we were from and when we told him we were from Singapore, he started shaking our hands. He said Singaporeans are the nicest people ever. When he was in the navy, he visited our country and one night when he got drunk, the taxi driver drove him to the pier for free. hahaha. The mini bus driver said he couldn't refuse any Singaporean so the ride was on him. :)

Ms Lavanne was impressed. She said she has to go visit our beautiful country.

The memorial was an awesome experience. Loadsa tears and laughter. Family and friends shared stories about him. His music was performed. On a side note, the grapes at the reception were awfully sweet and delicious. I think my friend said they were chilean grapes. mmm yum..

Well, all this while you thought you had no enemies.

you thought everyone was ok, if not, liked you.

you thought you never stepped on anyone.

you thought you never offended anyone.

Well, you thought wrong.
